Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see all streaming services for a title?

Streaming availability is provided by JustWatch through The Movie Database (TMDB). Coverage varies by region — a service that's available in one country may not be tracked in another. Watchnow shows whatever JustWatch currently knows about, in your device's region.

If you change your iOS region (Settings → General → Language & Region), the providers shown will update accordingly the next time you open the app.

How do I clear my watchlist or watched history?

To remove individual titles, swipe left on a row in your Watchlist or Watched tab and tap the remove action.

To clear everything at once, the simplest path is to delete and reinstall the app — all watchlist and watched data is stored locally on your device, so removing the app removes the data with it.

Can I sync my watchlist across devices?

Not in the current version. Watchnow has no user accounts and no backend — your data stays on your device. iCloud sync may come in a future release.

Why is a movie or TV series missing?

All content metadata comes from TMDB, an open community-edited database. If a title isn't showing up in Watchnow, it usually means it isn't yet listed on TMDB.

Anyone can add or correct a title at themoviedb.org. Once it's added there, it'll appear in Watchnow within a day or two.

Does Watchnow collect any personal data?

No. Watchnow has no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no user accounts. Your watchlist, watched titles, and search history are stored only on your device.

See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

The app is showing stale data — how do I refresh?

Pull down on any feed (Movies, Series, or a section list) to trigger a refresh. If a specific title's metadata looks wrong, force-quit the app and relaunch — Watchnow caches images aggressively to keep things fast, but a fresh launch always fetches the latest data.

Is Watchnow free? Are there ads or in-app purchases?

Yes, Watchnow is free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions. Just an app I built because I wanted it to exist.
